“Then will I do the part of a kinsman to thee, as the LORD liveth… Sit still, my daughter… for the man will not be in rest, until he have finished the thing this day” (Ruth 3:13,18). “I will praise Thee: for Thou… art become my salvation” (Psalm 118:21). “Whoso findeth Me findeth life, and shall obtain favor of the LORD” (Proverbs 8:35). “That He might be Just, and the Justifier of him which believeth in Jesus” (Romans 3:26).
“Sit
still,” said Naomi to Ruth;
The
man would not rest on that day
Until
he had finished in truth
The
part that a kinsman must pay.
We
see here a type of our Savior
In
Boaz, by whom Ruth was blest.
Until
he extended his favor,
This
kinsman would surely not rest.
The
Lord Jesus Christ is our Kin,
Made
flesh to become our Salvation.
God’s
Lamb came to take away sin
And
pay for our justification.
Our
God has expressed His desire,
Not
willing that any should perish,
Becoming
our Just Justifier
By
dying for souls He would cherish.
Lord
Jesus, there’s no other name
But
Yours where we safely may trust.
As
our Justifier You came,
And
yet You were perfectly Just!
We
thank You, O Lord, for Your kindness
As
Kinsman, extending such grace,
Which
gave to us sight for our blindness
And
welcomed us in Your embrace!
