The
allegories in God’s Word
Are
rich with truth that they unfold. Events which truly had occurred
Were types of Jesus Christ foretold.
We
see our Savior’s resurrection,
Portrayed
upon “the third day” then, For Abraham gave clear direction:
“I and the lad… will come again.”
As
Isaac speaks to Abraham,
We
see our Savior sacrificed, As God provides “Himself a Lamb,”
An allegory clear of Christ.
Read
carefully each allegory
Embedded
in these sacred pages, For therein is our Savior’s glory
Portrayed for us throughout the ages!
The
Scripture thus foresaw it all
As
God displayed His great salvation. When Abraham obeyed His call,
God used him as an illustration.
These
allegories have an end
As
shadows of reality, For in due time our God would send
His Son to die at Calvary.
In
Christ we see the promised Seed
By
whom the nations would be blest, The Word made flesh has come indeed,
And all who trust Him shall find rest.
O
Lord, we thank You for the treasure
In
allegories here displayed As we behold with joyful pleasure
The things concerning Christ portrayed.
We
praise Your name, our Lord and Savior,
For
awesome portraits found so true In allegories of Your favor
Foretelling types fulfilled in You.
