What's in your Work?

“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with Mine eye” (Psalm 32:8).  For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch” (Mark 13:34).

There’s no need for us to be looking about
And wonder what others around us should do,
For that breeds distraction, dissension, and doubt;
The Lord gives to each of  us work to pursue.

The Lord will instruct us and make His way known.
He teaches each one what to do, where to go.
He gives an assignment to each of His own;
And each of His people their own work shall know.

The Lord has ascended to heaven above,
Yet He has assured us that He will return.
He gives every servant a labor of love;
There’s no other work that we need to discern.

O Lord, we give thanks for the work that You’ve given
To each of Your children now saved by Your grace.
May this be the purpose by which we are driven
Until we behold You with joy face to face!
