Doors of Decision

“Be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.  Who is this King of glory?” (Psalm 24:7,8). “If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it” (Proverbs 9:12).  “And they began to pray Him to depart out of their coasts.  And when He was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed Him that he might be with Him” (Mark 5:17,18).  “Behold, I stand at the door and knock” (Revelation 3:20).

The doors shall be lifted when Christ shall return
To reign as the King evermore.
But fools in this age who continue to spurn,
Refuse now this King at their door.

The souls who are wise are receiving the Savior,
But mockers make light of His throne.
The King pays our ransom for sin by His favor,
But scorners shall bear it alone.

The man who was saved from demonic oppression
With joy received Christ in his heart.
The people who saw him would make no concession:
They pleaded with Christ to depart.

Now who is this King they are turning away,
Refusing to let Him come in?
Behold Him, the Lord who was willing to pay
Our ransom to save us from sin!

Behold now these scorners are herded as cattle
So blindly to their own destruction!
Alas!  They are led to the slaughter in battle,
Deceived by Satanic seduction!

O Lord, You have told us that You are still knocking
Upon every door of decision.
So help us to reach even those who are mocking
That You are persuading to listen.
