"What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's" (1 Corinthians 6:19,20).
It isn't really hard to know
The gifts our God has sought.
Behold the presents He will show:
They are the ones He bought!
It isn't gold, or frankincense,
Or myrrh that He requires.
The gifts He bought at Christ's expense
Are those which He desires!
The gifts we therefore ought to give
Today, if we will hear it,
Are given by the life we live
In body, soul, and spirit.
We see, O Lord, Your sacrifice
Upon the cross, and thus
We are amazed You paid that price
For sinners such as us!
It seems a little strange, O Lord,
To bring now what You own
As gifts, which we could not afford,
Are given at Your throne.
Yet this is why You came to earth,
Though we had gone astray,
Because You thought our souls were worth
The ransom You would pay!
O Lord, we would not hesitate
To bring our heart to You,
Nor would we fail consecrate
Our soul and body too.
Lord, help us everyday to bring
These gifts for which You died.
With all we are, O Lord our King,
May You be glorified!
