"They were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved? And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible" (Mark 10:26,27).
With men it is impossible
Forever to be saved,
For all have sinned, and every soul
Is hopelessly depraved!
Our souls would have no remedy
Apart from Jesus Christ.
Our efforts for eternity
Would never have sufficed.
How rightly we ourselves should be
Astonished out of measure
That God so loved the world that He
Imparted such a Treasure!
Thank You, Lord, for wondrous grace
For souls like ours undone.
There was no other hiding place
But in Your righteous Son!
For us it was impossible
Before we even started,
But by Your grace, O Lord, so full,
Salvation was imparted!
