Earnest Eyes

"But mine eyes are unto Thee, O God the Lord: in Thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute" (Psalm 141:8).

My eyes are fixed on You, O Lord;
There is no other resting place.
In You alone is peace restored;
You are the Fountainhead of grace.

My eyes are fixed on You, O Lord;
You will not leave me destitute.
The seeds of trust in You afford
A harvest that will bear much fruit.

My eyes are fixed on You, O Lord,
For You alone are my Defense.
There's no one else I look toward
So worthy of my confidence!

My eyes are fixed on You, O Lord;
And not the trends of so-called chance.
In You I find my sure Reward
And peace in every circumstance.
