Fullness of Favor

"But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, under the law, to redeem that were under the law" (Galatians 4:4,5).

There was a day when time was full
When God sent forth His precious Son
To give redemption for the soul
And righteousness, where there was none.

For centuries the prophets said
With all the sacrifices slain,
That as a lamb to slaughter led,
Our Lord would come, and not in vain.

For only He could thus redeem
The souls of sinners gone astray.
Virgin born, with no esteem,
He came to take our sin away.

As was foretold, in Bethlehem
Our Savior came in humble birth.
He came to save, not to condemn,
And so redeem the souls of earth.

The fullness of His time then came
With all the fullness of His favor.
Rejoice today! Come, praise the name
Of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior!
