Salvation's Sorrow

"For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death" (2 Corinthians 7:10).

There is a sorrow to salvation,
That leads a sinner to repent,
That bids him flee from condemnation,
To trust the Savior God has sent.

There is a sorrow of the world
That leads to God's eternal wrath,
Into the lake of fire hurled,
The second death, the hopeless path.

Choose your sorrow while you may,
And do not boast of a tomorrow.
Repent while it is called today
Sincerely with a godly sorrow!
