"He shall have dominion also from sea to sea… and His enemies shall lick the dust" (Psalm 72:8,9). "They would none of My counsel: they despised all My reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices" (Proverbs 1:30,31). "Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them… their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD" (Ezekiel 22:31). "Ye are of God, little children… greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world" (1 John 4:4).
The
Lord shall surely have dominion;
His
enemies shall lick the dust.
He
was despised in their opinion,
In
whom they should have put their trust.
They'll
eat the fruit of their own way,
Since
they refused God's great salvation.
They
chose instead to go astray
And
thus received His indignation.
They
did not choose to fear the Lord,
Despising
all of His reproof.
They
chose the things that were abhorred
And
at His warning, stood aloof.
O
Lord, our Savior and Creator,
We
thank You for Your sheltering wings!
Our
foe is strong, but You are greater;
What
comfort to our heart this brings!
