"The LORD preserved David whithersoever he went" (1 Chronicles 18:13). "Thou hast dealt well with Thy servant, O LORD, according unto Thy Word" (Psalm 119:65). "There is a Friend that sticketh closer than a brother" (Proverbs 18:24). "Grace to you, and peace… I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds: which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee and to me… If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account" (Philemon 3-18).
We see the
likeness of our case
In David, whom
the Lord had sent,
Preserving him
in every place,
For God was with
him where he went.
Though David sinned
(like every other),
The Lord
delivered him from hell,
With friendship
closer than a brother,
In kindness,
dealing with him well.
We see another
illustration
Within Onesimus,
a slave,
Reflecting grace
and liberation
In everyone whom
Christ will save.
O Lord, we're
gratefully discerning
The lovingkindness
of Your dealing
With each of us
as we are learning
How much we need
Your daily healing.
