"Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; a blessing, if ye obey… and a curse, if ye will not" (Deuteronomy 11:26-28). "He gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul" (Psalm 106:15). "The men of Nineveh… repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here… The queen of the south… came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here" (Matthew 12:41,42).
We
reap the harvest of our choice
That
brings a blessing or a curse:
We
will - or won't - obey God's voice,
For
better or, alas, for worse.
Obeying
God should be our goal,
Since
we have said "in God we trust."
We
see the leanness of our soul
Resulting
from ungodly lust.
When
Nineveh was taught to fear,
They
changed their outlook when they prayed.
The
queen of Sheba came to hear
The
wisdom that her heart obeyed.
We
pray, Lord, that our destiny
To
be a city on a hill
May
not be changed to infamy
Because
we do not choose Your will!
