"If a soul sin...yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity" (Leviticus 5:17). "But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD... And the LORD shall help them... and save them, because they trust in Him" (Psalm 37:39,40). "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that... the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ... gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works" (Titus 2:11-14).
A
soul that sins shall bear his guilt
Unless
a sinless Sacrifice
Shall
clear the case against him built
By
satisfying judgment's price.
The
Lord has heard the earnest cry
Of
guilty souls in desperation,
And
to this end He came to die
For
those who trust Him for salvation.
The
grace of God has now appeared
Through
Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior,
Who
gave Himself and thereby cleared
Our
sin and guilt with saving favor.
O
Lord, we thank You for the grace
Which
You have brought us from above
To
clear the guilty sinner's case
And
purify us with Your love.
