"O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine... It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of Thy countenance. Let Thy hand be upon the Man of Thy right hand, upon the Son of Man whom Thou madest strong for Thyself... Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause Thy face to shine; and we shall be saved" (Psalm 80:14-19). "And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud... the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle... gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God" (Revelation 14:14-19).
The
Lord has looked upon the vine
Which
He rebukes throughout the land,
Yet
He will cause His face to shine
Through
Christ, the Man of His right hand.
The
vine of earth is proud and long
Opposing
God on every path,
But
Christ, the Son of Man, is strong
Who
shall consume this vine with wrath.
The
blasphemy we hear is loud,
Yet
soon this vine of earth shall cease
When
Christ shall come upon the cloud
And
govern as the Prince of Peace.
Behold
this vine; it shall be burned;
Its
wickedness shall be cut down
When
Christ our Savior has returned,
And
He alone shall wear the crown!
O
Lord, we've seen Your battle plan
Against
the vine that seeks control:
You
came to earth as Son of Man
To
give Your life to save our soul.
Lord,
we foresee in Revelation
When
Satan's vine is gathered up,
That
those rejecting Your salvation
Shall
also drink of judgment's cup.
O
turn us, Lord, to see again
The
true Vine that You are alone,
And
shine Your face upon us then
That we may make Your Gospel known!
