“Put
not your trust in princes, nor
in the son of man… Happy is he
that hath the God of Jacob for
his help…which keepeth truth forever” (Psalm 146:3-6). “Whoso hearkeneth unto Me shall dwell safely,
and shall be quiet from fear of evil” (Proverbs 1:33). “I will call My servant, Eliakim [Heb. “He
shall establish”, a beautiful type of Christ]
and I will fasten him as
a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father's
house” (Isaiah 22:20-23). “God also hath
highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should
bow… and that every tongue
should confess that Jesus Christ is
Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11).
Put
not your trust in mortal man
Who
makes a promise, yet he dies,
And
cannot keep his promised plan,
Which
death completely nullifies.
How
happy is that one secure,
Who
trusts in God and does His will.
For
every word of God is pure,
And
every promise He’ll fulfill.
Now
all who trust in God shall dwell
In
safety, as the Lord has said.
For
Christ delivered us from hell,
Removing
every cause for dread.
His
name is fastened as a nail
To
thus secure for us a place
Where
promises can never fail
Which
God has settled by His grace.
Our
Lord is evermore the same;
He
keeps His promise to His own.
Behold
the greatness of His name
Who
gathers us around His throne!
The
name above all others is
Our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We
are secure because we’re His,
Since
He for us was sacrificed.
O
Lord, we join celestial ranks
Of
those whose praise shall never cease,
With
whom we worship and give thanks
To
Jesus Christ, who is our Peace.
