“Many
there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God.
Selah. But Thou, O LORD, art a Shield for me; my Glory, and
the Lifter up of mine head” (Psalm 3:2,3).
“Whoso findeth Me findeth life, and shall obtain favor of the LORD. But he that sinneth against Me wrongeth his
own soul: all they that hate Me love death” (Proverbs 8:35). “Forasmuch as this people draw near Me with their mouth, and with their
lips do honor Me, but have removed their heart far from Me… the wisdom of their
wise men shall perish” (Isaiah
29:13,14). “Ye turned to God from idols
to serve the living and true God and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He
raised from the dead, even
Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come” (1 Thessalonians 1:9,10).
How
many there are who mistakenly said
That
there is no help from the Lord for my soul,
But
God is my Shield who lifts up my head,
My
Glory, and He who alone makes me whole.
We
turn to the Lord, and we thus find His favor
That
He won in battle by fighting our strife.
All
those who will turn to Christ Jesus the Savior
Shall
find in His salvation, His mercy, and life.
But
those who are turning their backs on the Lord
Are
wronging their souls by rejecting salvation.
They
ought to be turning their faces toward
The
Lord who alone can remove condemnation.
Yet
many mistakenly now stand aloof
And
offer to God their religious pretension.
It’s
not as if God hasn’t offered them proof,
But
rather by choice they’re denied comprehension.
How
great is the joy of the souls who have turned
To
God from the idols that rendered them blind!
How
sweet is the light which they now have discerned
Exposes
the falsehood that darkened their mind!
O
Lord, we give thanks for the mercies You’ve shown,
As
You have declared we shall not be forsaken!
Our
labor of love now is making You known,
Proclaiming
Your truth to the many mistaken.
