“Both
young men, and maidens; old men, and children:
let them praise the name of the LORD… His glory is above the earth and heaven.
He also exalteth the horn of His people… a people near unto Him” (Psalm
148:12-14). “Trust in the Lord with all
thine heart… The LORD shall be thy Confidence… He giveth grace unto the lowly.”
(Proverbs 3:5,26,34). “Wherefore glorify
ye the LORD in the fires… Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the
earth” (Isaiah 24:15,17). “The peace of
God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through
Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7).
Young
men, maidens, old men, youth:
Praise
the name of Jesus Christ!
He
saves us with His grace and truth
Since
He for us was sacrificed.
We’re
confident in Him alone:
Above
all heaven and the earth
He
is exalted on His throne
Where
His redeemed declare His worth.
And
thus by grace He draws us near,
For
this is what His heart desires.
He
gives us peace instead of fear
To
glorify Him in the fires.
Yes,
even the fiery trial,
He
calls us there to give Him praise,
Which
may endure a little while,
As
there we learn to trust His ways.
But
O what deep and dark despair,
For
those who will not have the Savior,
Await
with fear, the pit, the snare,
And
condemnation without favor.
So
as we ponder souls yet lost,
How
great the contrast is we see!
Because
our Savior paid the cost,
We
are from every fear set free!
Lord,
thank you for the joy give
And
for this cause for fearless peace:
Because
You live we also live,
And
in your presence, joys increase!
