The
Lord dwells in His holiness
Where
angels always do His will, So who then has the righteousness
To dwell within His holy hill?
Our
every way the Lord has pondered:
Our
walk, our work, and all we say. He knows how often we have wandered
And from His will have gone astray.
We
surely wouldn’t have a chance,
If
not for God’s preserving grace, To walk with God or even glance
Within His holy dwelling place!
As
silver purged of all its dross,
We
are made pure by Christ alone. He purged our sins upon His cross
And made His mercy to us known.
“Fear
not!” We hear our Savior speak,
Assuring
us He holds our hand. He strengthens us when we are weak,
And by His grace He makes us stand.
It
is before our God and Savior
And
all His angels we are charged To honor God in our behavior
With hearts by holiness enlarged.
O
Lord our God, we have no claim
To
holiness apart from You! Upon the cross You bore our shame
To purge transgressions from Your view.
So
may You daily find us, Lord,
Increasing
in our consecration With holiness that You afford
That manifests Your great salvation.
