“O
LORD, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies' sake… The LORD hath heard my
supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer” (Psalm 6:4,9). “Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but
righteousness delivereth from death... When
a wicked man dieth, his
expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth… He that winneth souls is wise.” (Proverbs 11:4,7,30).
“Behold, a King shall reign in righteousness… And a Man shall be as an Hiding
Place from the wind, and a Covert from the tempest; as Rivers of water in a dry
place, as the Shadow of a great rock in a weary land” (Isaiah 32:1,2). “Sorrow not, even as others which have no
hope... For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout… and the
dead in Christ shall rise first: then we
which are alive and remain
shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the
air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17).
Our
hope is built on righteousness
We
surely know is not our own.
For
mercy’s sake our God will bless
Through
Jesus Christ our Lord alone.
The
Lord will hear the supplication
And
prayer of those who are brought low.
He
is the Hope of our salvation,
The
ONLY Hope that we can know.
He
is our righteous King who reigns,
The
Man who died to grant us grace.
No
other hope on earth remains;
He
is our only Hiding Place.
And
though at times we feel sorrow,
We
sorrow not like hopeless do:
We
see eternity’s tomorrow,
Assured
our Savior’s word is true.
For
He has promised to return
To
gather all His own at last.
Our
hope is sure as we discern
The
days of sorrow shall be passed.
Lord,
since we know You’ll come again,
With
hope that’s settled by Your Word,
O
make us fishers now of men,
To
win them till Your shout is heard!
