"My soul followeth hard after Thee: Thy right hand upholdeth me" (Psalm 63:8). "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work... in the grave whither thou goest" (Ecclesiastes 9:10). "Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure" (Philippians 2:12,13).
Our soul is following the Lord,
And yet we understand,
By grace alone we are restored,
Upheld by God's own hand.
We work while it is called Today,
For soon will come the night.
The grace of God is on display
Beneath our seeming might.
We're working out our own salvation,
As God now works within;
He saved us with this inclination,
And ransomed us from sin.
O Lord, we see Your love unveiled,
And marvel at its treasure!
Your love for us has never failed
To hold us by Your pleasure.
