Privilege of Prayer

"O Thou that hearest prayer, unto Thee shall all flesh come. Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, Thou shalt purge them away. Blessed is the man whom Thou choosest, and causest to approach unto Thee" (Psalm 65:2-4). "Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6,7).

Why should God give heed to prayer
From sinners in this place?
Who are we that we would dare
To draw near to His face?

Praise the Lord, for He has purged
Our sins through Jesus Christ,
For grace and truth were in Him merged
When He was sacrificed!

We're called to pray, and not to fret,
By prayer and supplication,
And with thanksgiving not forget
The cost of our salvation.

O Lord, what mercies here abound!
What privileges we find
As at Your Throne of Grace we're found
With perfect peace of mind!
