"Wilt Thou not revive us again, that Thy people may rejoice in Thee?.... I will hear what God the Lord will speak.... that glory may dwell in our land. Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other" (Psalm 85:6-10).
Will You not revive us, Lord,
That we may thus rejoice in You?
Only You can well afford
To send revival that is true.
Let us hear what God will speak;
All other speech we should disdain.
All other glory that we seek
Apart from God's is surely vain.
Lord, we've heard Your gracious voice
And find Your Gospel is the same:
It is in mercy we rejoice
That meets the truth that You proclaim.
Righteousness and peace have kissed:
In Christ we see them reconciled!
He met the standard that we missed,
To cleanse the sinner once defiled.
Lord, turn our hearts again to see
The awesome wonder of Your grace!
Revive us, Lord, lest Calvary
Or Christ Himself seem common place!
