"Happy is he... whose hope is in the LORD his God, which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth forever" (Psalm 146:5,6). "He [Abraham] believed, even God, who... calleth those things which be not as though they were.... he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform" (Romans 4:20,21).
Our God who created the heaven and earth,
The sea, and the splendor within them that is,
Has thus demonstrated His power and worth,
Persuading the faith of all who are His.
It surely transcends our most lofty thought
To think how creation had come to exist.
For God called it forth while yet it was not,
Displaying the power that none can resist.
O Lord, we have seen by the things that You made
Your power displayed in the work of creation,
And yet there is more now to further persuade:
You gave us Your Son who accomplished salvation!
Lord, we're persuaded that all You have said
Will find its fulfillment in its proper time.
Just as You promised to rise from the dead,
Your Word is the truth, and Your proof is sublime!
