Champion Children

"For this child I prayed… as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD" (1 Samuel 1:27,28).  "Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast Thou ordained strength because of Thine enemies, that Thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger" (Psalm 8:2).  "Train up a child in the way he should go…  Have not I written to thee excellent things… that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?" (Proverbs 22:6,20,21).  "Sanctify them through Thy truth: Thy Word is truth" (John 17:17). 

As Hannah rightly understood,

This babe whom she had dedicated

Would find from God the greatest good

By being to Him consecrated.

The Lord is glorified by such

As He ordains His strength in these,

For little with the Lord is much,

By whom He stills His enemies. 

O may we likewise seek to train

The children God has given us

As champions that He will ordain

To be for Him victorious. 

Lord, raise up champions in our day

Among the children that You give,

And sanctify them in Your way

As long as each of them shall live.
