"The daughter of Pharaoh... saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him... And she called his name Moses (מֹשֶׁה Mosheh; "drawing out"): and she said, Because I drew him out of the water" (Exodus 2:5-10). "Send Thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters" (Psalm 144:7). "Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable Gift" (2 Corinthians 9:15).
When Moses was
drawn from the water,
It was by
Jehovah's compassion
Extended through
Pharaoh's own daughter
Through mercy
God only could fashion.
This mercy on
Moses we see
By which he was
drawn from that river
Reflects how the
Lord lovingly
From heaven is
moved to deliver.
The Lord hears
the humble who pray
And sends forth
His hand from above
To perfectly
answer today
With infinite
wisdom and love.
O Lord, by Your mercy
on Moses,
Your kindness to
us we can trace!
You rescued us
when we were hopeless
And granted
unspeakable grace.
