"Ye shall not need to fight… stand ye still and see the salvation of the LORD… Believe in the LORD… so shall ye be established; believe His prophets, so shall ye prosper. And… [Jehoshaphat] appointed singers… to say, Praise the LORD; for His mercy endureth forever" (2 Chronicles 20:20,21). "How shall we sing the LORD'S song in a strange land?" (Psalm 137:4). "He that hath the Son, hath life… He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son" (1 John 5:12; 2 John 9).
Jehoshaphat
brought singers when
The battle was the
Lord's that day,
For soldiers
were not needed then
To set his army
in array.
There was a fight
we didn't fight,
A battle won we
didn't win.
Stand still and see
the wondrous sight
Of Christ who
took away our sin!
Though we are in
a strange land now,
We sing salvation's
joyful song.
The day when
every knee shall bow
Is coming soon;
it won't be long.
O Lord, You are the
greatest reason
For us to sing through
all our days.
In every place
and every season,
You give our
hearts a song of praise.
