"LORD, it is nothing with Thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on Thee" (2 Chronicles 14:11). "LORD, my heart is not haughty… neither do I exercise myself… in things too high for me" (Psalm 131:1). "A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke" (Proverbs 13:1). "There shall come in the last days scoffers… But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:3,18).
We grow in grace
by knowing well
Our help is only
in our Savior.
We could not
save ourselves from hell;
Our hope alone
is in His favor.
We grow in grace
when we are humble
Before the Lord
whom we obey,
Aware that we
are prone to stumble
And, but for
grace, we'd go astray.
We grow in grace
when we have heard
And have obeyed our
Father's warning.
In God alone we
rest assured,
Though all
around us, there is scorning.
Lord, set our
hearts on things above,
So we may thereby
grow in grace
And in the
knowledge of Your love
That deepens as
we seek Your face.
