“Thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance… Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about” (Psalm 32:7,10). “For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. But whoso hearkeneth unto Me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil” (Proverbs 1:32,33). “[God’s] Son… when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high” (Hebrews 1:2,3).
How
great the contrast is between
The
songs of our deliverance
And
sorrows of destruction seen
That
come with willful ignorance.
These
songs and sorrows which appear
Shall
never share a common ground.
Destruction
comes with endless fear
In
contrast to our joyful sound.
Though
everyone has gone astray,
There
is a contrast that begins
When
sinners turn to God and pray
And
find deliverance from sins.
Though
fools may find prosperity
Obscures
eternity’s tomorrows,
Unless
they turn, they soon shall see
Destruction’s
everlasting sorrows.
Let
us who know the joyful song
Persuade
the lost who may be urged,
And
tell the glories all day long
Of
Christ, by whom our sins are purged.
Lord,
thank You that You died give
Deliverance
at such a cost!
Triumphantly,
because You live,
We
sing Your praise and urge the lost!
