Preaching Peace

“The LORD raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them” (Judges 3:9).  “Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness” (Psalm 97:12).  “The Word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all)… And He commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is He which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.  To Him give all the prophets witness, that through His name whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remission of sins” (Acts 10:36-43).

Give thanks to God who gave a Savior
To Israel and every nation,
For none of us deserved His favor,
Since we had earned His condemnation!

Rejoice, you righteous, knowing this:
Your righteousness has come from Christ!
God’s holy standard that we miss
Was met when He was sacrificed.

The Word God sent to Israel
When Christ our Lord came from above
Declared His peace that saves from hell.
Behold the manner of His love!

We preach the peace He bought for us,
Which God commands us to proclaim.
Amazing love, so marvelous!
Give thanks and praise His holy name!

There is a coming Great White Throne
Where Christ will give His judgment sentence,
Yet now is His salvation shown
To all who come in true repentance.

We’re preaching peace by Christ’s command;
He sends us by His great commission,
Declaring now to every land:
In Christ we find our sins’ remission!

O Lord, we preach that peace begins
Precisely when our fear departs:
The moment You remove our sins
Is when You come into our hearts!
