More than Men

“Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into Thy lips… Consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house; so shall the King greatly desire thy beauty: for He is thy Lord; and worship thou Him” (Psalm 45:2-11).  “Ye are God's building… Other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ… Therefore let no man glory in men” (1 Corinthians 3:9-21). 

The words of men may boast and flatter

Of their achievements and their place,
But in the end all that will matter
Is Christ and His amazing grace. 

We hear our Savior’s gracious speech

Concerning His redemption full.  
It is the Gospel that we preach
Of Christ alone who saves our soul! 

There’s no one else who can compare

As we consider Jesus Christ.
Much more than men, our Lord is fair,
Who for our souls was sacrificed!

Now losing sight of all but Him

We stand in awe of who He is
As all distractions become dim,
And we delight to know we’re His.

How rightly He should be adored

And fill our vision with His love. 
We worship Jesus Christ our Lord
Who brought salvation from above!

We are His building unified,

And He Himself is our Foundation. 
For us came, He lived, He died,
And rose again for our salvation! 

We thank the Lord for gifted men

And gifted sisters we have known,
Yet with one voice we say again: 
We glory in our Lord alone!

O Lord, we join the grateful ranks

Of those who fix their eyes on You! 
Receive our worship and our thanks
For all You’ve done and yet will do! 

Now send us forth, Lord, with this vision,

As worship moves our hearts to pray
For souls in valleys of decision
To trust in You without delay!
