Wisdom's Workmanship

“Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding…  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding” (Proverbs 9:10).  “By grace are ye saved… For we are His workmanship” (Ephesians 2:8-10).

Wisdom’s workmanship begins

By teaching us to fear the Lord,

For thereby we forsake our sins,

And thus we also are restored.

Wisdom taught us when we craved

A hiding place from condemnation.

Wisdom called us to be saved

And find in Christ alone salvation.

Wisdom gives us understanding

In what is holy and is not

As we follow God’s commanding

In every action, word, and thought.

Thank You, Lord, for wondrous grace

That molds us by Your workmanship.

Throughout our life we surely trace

Your hand that never let us slip.
