Even
in laughter the heart may have sorrow,
And
heaviness comes at the end of that mirth,
But
O, there’s unspeakable joy on the morrow
For
all who have tasted the joy of new birth!
Even
in laughter the sorrow abides,
For
no earthly remedy heals the heart.
Only
the Savior of sinners provides
The
healing and joy He alone can impart.
There’s
joy that replaces lamentable laughter;
It
comes with salvation that God freely gives.
There’s
blessing extended in life ever after
Because
our Lord Jesus eternally lives.
O
Lord, we give thanks for the joy of salvation
That
never will fade with the passing of time.
Lamentable
laughter, so brief in duration,
Can
never compete with Your joy so sublime.
