"Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto Him, Yea, Lord. Then said He unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth out of his treasure things new and old" (Matthew 13:51,52).
Precious truths as gems abound
In Scriptures which were once concealed
As we search them and have found
By grace these wondrous things revealed.
Have we understood these things?
Then as a scribe does, let us write.
Let understanding that God brings
Be worth the effort in our sight.
It's not because we are so smart
We understand what we have heard,
For God is searching every heart
To see who trembles at His Word.
All the treasures of this earth
Cannot with wisdom be compared.
If you value wisdom's worth,
Then why not write what God has shared?
