Purging for Peace

"The Lord sitteth King forever. The Lord will give strength unto His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace" (Psalm 29:10,11). "A king that sitteth in the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes. Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?" (Proverbs 20:8,9). "Purge out therefore the old leaven... as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us" (1 Corinthians 5:7). "Who... when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high" (Hebrews 1:3).

The Lord gives peace and purity
To those who are His own.
And this is our security:
He's sits upon the throne.

He sat as King upon the flood
To purge in Noah's day,
Yet as our Savior shed His blood
To purge our sins away.

The purging for our peace begins
And ends in Jesus Christ,
Who by Himself once purged our sins,
When He was sacrificed.

He's seated now and satisfied;
His work is fully done.
And none can say they're purified,
Except by God the Son.
