The Way to Go by the Word of God

"Ye have not passed this way heretofore… Come hither, and hear the words of the LORD your God" (Joshua 3:4,9).  "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Psalm 119:105).  "The ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings" (Proverbs 5:21).  "Blind Bartimaeus… sat by the highway side begging… And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole.  And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way" (Mark 10:46,52). 

We haven't passed this way before;

This path ahead we have not trod.

We may not know what lies in store,

But we can trust the Word of God.

We have a lamp that shows God's will,

A light that shines upon our path.   

The Word of God shall guide us still

Which taught our hearts to flee from wrath.  

The Word of God shall make us wise

And teach us all we need to know,

Correcting us before His eyes

And showing us the way to go. 

O Lord, the of Word of God has shined;

The way to go is now in view.     

Like Bartimaeus, who was blind,

You gave us sight to follow You.
