"I have called by name Bezaleel (בְּצַלְאֵל The Shadow of God)... and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship" (Exodus 31:2,3). "The LORD is my Shepherd... He leadeth me" (Psalm 23:1-3). "A Friend loveth at all times, and a Brother is born for adversity" (Proverbs 17:17). "We pray always for you, that our God would... fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness, and the work of faith with power" (2 Thessalonians 1:11).
There
is a beauty in each name
Depicting
gifts by God defined,
Like
Bezaleel who thus came
To
do the work that God assigned.
This
name meant "Shadow of our God,"
Implying
that our God was near.
Our
Shepherd with His staff and rod
Shall
likewise make His presence clear.
His
shadow over us extends
In
peace and in adversity.
He
is the closest of our Friends
Through
time and through eternity.
O
Lord our Shepherd, work in us
As
in Your shadow we abide,
That
we may show how glorious
Your
nearness is in which we hide.
