"My people would not hearken to My voice… So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels. Oh that My people had hearkened unto Me, and Israel had walked in My ways!" (Psalm 81:11-13). "He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding" (Proverbs 15:32). "The rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands" (Revelation 9:20).
There
is a reason for reproof:
It
is for good that it is sent.
Yet
many choose to stand aloof,
Determined
still to not repent.
The
reason God is reprimanding
The
ones who will not hear His voice
Is
so they might get understanding
And
make a soul-preserving choice.
Within
the Book of Revelation
We
see the tragedy ahead
As
many still refuse salvation
And
choose the wrath of God instead.
Your
reason for reproof, O Lord,
Is
plain when anyone obeys,
Who
by Your grace is thus restored
To
walk with You and choose Your ways.
