"They remembered that God was their Rock, and the high God their Redeemer. Nevertheless they did flatter Him with their mouth, and they lied unto Him with their tongues. For their heart was not right with Him" (Psalm 78:35-37). "The kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men… hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb" (Revelation 6:15,16).
The people in the wilderness,
Whose prayers were uttered uselessly,
Were not sincere in their distress,
Approaching God with flattery.
Their prayers may have been eloquent
With desperation in their plight,
Yet sadly they did not repent
Because their heart was still not right.
The day shall come when men will call
On rocks (which cannot see or hear)
To heed their pointless prayer to fall
And hide them from the Lamb they fear.
O Lord of all humanity,
Amid the pointless prayers today,
Break through the dark insanity
To save those who will humbly pray.
