"Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever: the scepter of Thy kingdom is a right scepter" (Psalm 45:6 ). "The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: He turneth it whithersoever He will" (Proverbs 21:1). "The king shall... speak marvelous things against the God of gods... yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him" (Daniel 11:36,45). "The Son of Man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many" (Mark 10:45).
Behold
the scepter of our Savior,
Who
rules forever from His throne,
Extending
His eternal favor
In
righteousness to all His own.
He
rules forever by His might
And
turns king's hearts as He has willed,
Expelling
darkness with His light
As
all His counsel is fulfilled.
Ungodly
kings shall come and go
Who
speak against the Lord our God
Until
the day when rebels know
The
final judgment of His rod.
O
Savior, by Your revelation,
We
see the scepter that You hold
Extends
Your ransom in salvation,
Yet
warns the lost of wrath foretold.
