"I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek Thy servant; for I do not forget Thy commandments" (Psalm 119:176). "Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind" (Luke 8:35).
The
moment we begin to wander
From
our Good Shepherd and Defender,
We
rightly fear as then we ponder
The
safety found in our surrender.
What
dangers lie outside God's will
As
we have strayed from His command!
How
kind He is to love us still
And
lead us back then with His hand!
There
was a man whom Christ restored
Whom
demons once had occupied.
The
man surrendered to the Lord;
The
demons then were terrified!
The
people of the city ran
To
see if this report was true.
When
they beheld this transformed man,
They
saw what only God could do.
The
man was seated at the feet
Of
Jesus Christ in glad submission.
Surrender
to the Lord is sweet,
Who
saves the sinner from perdition!
O
Lord, in sweet obedience,
We
likewise find our sanity.
We
rest our souls in Your defense,
O
Savior of humanity!
There
is no safer place we find;
There
is no wiser place to be.
Your
presence gives us peace of mind;
Your
truth, Lord Jesus, makes us free.
O
Lord, until we're face to face
In
safe surrender at Your throne,
We
preach the Gospel of Your grace
To
make Your great salvation known.
