"The LORD'S name is to be praised.... Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high, who humbleth Himself?.... He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill, that He may set him with... the princes of His people" (Psalm 113:5-8). "The ransom of a man's life are his riches" (Proverbs 13:8). "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service" (Romans 12:1).
Who can be likened to Jesus our Lord,
Who humbled Himself that we might be raised?
How rightly, when His wondrous love is explored,
From morning till evening His name should be praised!
He humbled Himself, as He looked from above
To see our condition, so sinfully poor.
Descending from heaven, so moved by His love,
He laid down His own life! What could He do more?
There's no way to pay You, our Lord Jesus Christ,
For nothing can equal Your work on the cross!
Our reasoned response is a life sacrificed
Which You have eternally ransomed from loss!
