"Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart, who hath not lifted up His soul to vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of His salvation" (Psalm 24:3-5). "The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow with it" (Proverbs 10:22).
Who shall ascend to the hill of the Lord?
Who shall approach Him in His holy place?
The traits of perfection cannot be ignored,
As God's now examines the whole human race.
The deeds of the hands must be righteous and clean.
The thoughts of the heart must be holy and pure.
The soul with vain longings must never be seen,
Nor ever a word of deceit may occur.
Alas! There is no one on earth without sin!
How shall we stand then on God's holy hill?
Behold, now our Savior and King enters in,
Who wrought our salvation by doing God's will!
O Lord, You accomplished what we never could;
Our sin must be punished, which holiness loathed!
And though there was none, no not one, that was good,
We find ourselves now in Your righteousness clothed!
