"We will rejoice in Thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners.... Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God" (Psalm 20:5,7). "And Hezekiah received the letter... and spread it before the Lord. And Hezekiah prayed before the Lord, and said.... O LORD our God, I beseech Thee, save us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that Thou art the LORD God, even Thou only" (2 Kings 19:14-19).
Some trust in chariots, and some in their horses,
Some trust in wealth, and advice of their planners.
But we do not wrestle against human forces;
In the name of our God we will set up our banners.
Recalling the prayer Hezekiah once prayed,
Rehearsing the threats in that letter he read,
With all the Assyrian army arrayed,
Before the LORD God, that letter was spread.
How wise was this king! How godly his manners!
How good his example is seen in this story!
The victory will come as we set up our banners
In the name of our God, when we give Him the glory!
