Truth in Time

Read:  Psalm 98 / Proverbs 19 / Joshua 13 / Revelation 9

Psalm 98:3,9 He hath remembered his mercy and his truth… all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God… with righteousness shall he judge the world… with equity.

Proverbs 19:27,29 Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge… Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.

Joshua 13:1 Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the LORD said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.

Revelation 9:21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

The earth has seen the great salvation

And judgment that our Lord revealed.

There’s one escape from condemnation:

By Christ the sinner may be healed!

As long as Christ shall lend us breath,

Let us proclaim the Gospel truth,

For time is short before our death,

And years evaporate our youth.

Refuge of His Reputation

Read:  Psalm 97 / Proverbs 18 / Joshua 12 / Revelation 8

Psalm 97:12 Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

Proverbs 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Joshua 12:1 Now these are the kings of the land, which the children of Israel smote, and possessed their land.

Revelation 8:13 And I beheld, and heard an angel… saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the… angels, which are yet to sound!

Recalling that the Lord is holy

And that He is our Hiding Place,

We join the chorus of the lowly

Who sing of His amazing grace.

We find our refuge in this Tower

Which is our Savior’s reputation

Who shelters us with saving power

And rescues us from condemnation.

Time to Trust

Read:  Psalm 96 / Proverbs 17 / Joshua 11 / Revelation 7

Psalm 96:2 Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.

Proverbs 17:8 A gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it: whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth.

Joshua 11:6 And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for tomorrow… will I deliver them up.

Revelation 7:9,10 A great multitude… cried… Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

Show forth salvation day by day;

Employ the gift of time God gives.

As precious moments slip away,

Declare the truth that Jesus lives!

Be not afraid to bring the news

That God commands us to make known,

For time is short for hearts to choose

To place their trust in Christ alone.

Worship and Warning

Read:  Psalm 95 / Proverbs 16 / Joshua 10 / Revelation 6

Psalm 95:6-8 O come, let us worship… the LORD our maker. For he is our God; and we are the… the sheep of his hand. Today if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your heart.

Proverbs 16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

Joshua 10:8 And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.

Revelation 6:10,11 How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not… avenge our blood on them?... and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season.

In truth, let us worship our Lord,

Our Hero by whom we are pardoned,

While praying for those who’ve ignored

God’s warning to hearts that are hardened.

Fear not to obey God’s command;

We trust in the Lord for good reason.

God’s timing is perfectly planned;

Our Lord shall return in His season.

He will Hear

Read:  Psalm 94 / Proverbs 15 / Joshua 9 / Revelation 5

Psalm 94:9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?

Proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

Joshua 9:14 And the men… asked not counsel at the mouth of the LORD.

Revelation 5:6 And I beheld… a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

The Lord who made the ear can hear.

The Lord who formed the eye can see.

The Lord’s design is very clear,

For He has made us wondrously.

Since God can see what we cannot,

We need His counsel every day.

Let every care to Him be brought,

For He will hear us when we pray.

Mere Noise of Malicious News

Read:  Psalm 93 / Proverbs 14 / Joshua 8 / Revelation 4

Psalm 93:4 The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.

Proverbs 14:26 In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

Joshua 8:1 And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear not, neither be thou dismayed… see, I have given into thy hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land.

Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

The Lord is stronger than the waves

Of enemies against our Savior.

Despite their noise, Christ Jesus saves

All those who humbly seek His favor.

There is no cause for us to fear

When we obey our great Creator.

Malicious news is loud and clear,

But God is infinitely greater!

Leave a Legacy

Read:  Psalm 92 / Proverbs 13 / Joshua 7 / Revelation 3

Psalm 92:14,15 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age… to shew that the LORD is upright: He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

Proverbs 13:14 The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

Joshua 7:10-13 The LORD said unto Joshua, Get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face?  Israel hath sinned... thou canst not stand... until ye take away the accursed thing.

Revelation 3:8,11 I have set before thee an open door… I come quickly: hold that fast… that no man take thy crown.

The time of old age isn’t far,

For soon we’re looking back at youth.

Let us examine who we are

To leave a legacy of truth.

Let snares that make us go astray

Be seen as things that we abhor.

Let no one take our crown away

While God provides an open door.

Looking at our Love

Read:  Psalm 91 / Proverbs 12 / Joshua 6 / Revelation 2

Psalm 91:14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

Proverbs 12:5,26 The thoughts of the righteous are right… The righteous is more excellent than his neighbor: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.

Joshua 6:18 And ye, in any wise keep yourselves from the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselves accursed.

Revelation 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

Our love is rightly set on Christ

Who rescued us from our destruction,

And yet we still may be enticed

By things that lead to our seduction.

The Lord commands us to be wise

And keep ourselves from things accursed.

We are before His searching eyes;

Do we still love Him as at first?

Wisely Won

Read:  Psalm 90 / Proverbs 11 / Joshua 5 / Revelation 1

Psalm 90:17 And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Joshua 5:14 As captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said… What saith my lord unto his servant?

Revelation 1:5-6 Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood… to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Now let the beauty of the Lord

Who for our sake was sacrificed

Bear fruit in souls redeemed, restored,

And wisely won for Jesus Christ.

Let worship be the motivation

That stirs our hearts with grateful love

To serve the Lord of our salvation

Who intercedes for us above.

Meaning of Monuments

Read:  Psalm 89 / Proverbs 10 / Joshua 4 / Jude

Psalm 89:14,15 Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face. Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound.

Proverbs 10:7,21 The memory of the just is blessed… The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.

Joshua 4:6,7 When your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones? Then ye shall answer… The waters of Jordan were cut off… these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel forever.

Jude 3 Beloved… it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

The joyful sound of Gospel truth

Proclaims the blessing of God’s grace.

Declare it clearly to our youth

To teach them now to seek His face!

Let children ask, “What does this mean?”

When monuments shall be discussed,

That we may show the truth foreseen

In Scriptures they are taught to trust.

Salvation Severs

Read:  Psalm 88 / Proverbs 9 / Joshua 3 / 3 John

Psalm 88:1,18 O LORD God of my salvation… Lover and friend hast thou put far from me.

Proverbs 9:6 Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

Joshua 3:9 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, Come hither, and hear the words of the LORD your God.

3 John 11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.

The choices true believers make

Will often sever them from friends.

When Christ is spurned (the BIG mistake),

A close companionship then ends.

The Lord has called us by His Word

To follow Him at every cost.

To evil men, this is absurd,

Yet this confirms that they are lost.

Reflecting on Rahab

Read:  Psalm 87 / Proverbs 8 / Joshua 2 / 2 John

Psalm 87:3,4 Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah. I will make mention of Rahab.

Proverbs 8:17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

Joshua 2:1 Joshua… sent out… two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there.

2 John 8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

Though Rahab, in the psalmist’s sentence,

Referred to Egypt as a nation,

This name reflects the true repentance

Of one who sought and found salvation.

Thus, Rahab may refer to wrath

Or to salvation from the Lord.

Look to yourselves and to your path,

That you may have Christ’s full reward!
