Read:  Psalm 68 / Proverbs 15 / Exodus 13 / 1 Corinthians 9

 

Psalm 68:11 ~ The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.

Proverbs 15:28 ~ The heart of the righteous studieth to answer.

Exodus 13:8,9 ~ Show thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the LORD did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt... that the LORD'S law may be in thy mouth.

1 Corinthians 9:16,22 ~ Necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel... by all means save some!

 

The Lord has given us His Word

To publish, to persuade, to preach,

And pray to make the Gospel heard

To every person we may reach.

 

We preach while sinners yet may come

To seek the Lord and humbly pray,

That we, by all means, may save some

Who turn while it is called TODAY.

Psalm 67:1-2 ~ God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us... that thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.

Proverbs 14:26 ~ In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

Exodus 12:13,23 ~ The blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land... the LORD will pass over the door.

1 Corinthians 8:3,6 ~ If any man love God, the same is known of him... There is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

 

The time has come to seek God’s face

As we make known to every nation

The love of God, His wondrous grace,

And saving health of His salvation. 

 

We thus proclaim our Lord's protection

Portrayed in His Passover scenes:

The Paschal Lamb is the reflection

Of Christ, whose blood now intervenes. 

 

Time Is Short, Truth Is Sure

Read:  Psalm 66 / Proverbs 13 / Exodus 11 / 1 Corinthians 7 

 

Psalm 66:5,16 ~ Come and see the works of God... Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.

 Proverbs 13:8 ~ The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke. 

Exodus 11:7 ~ The LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel. 

1 Corinthians 7:29,31 ~ The time is short... for the fashion of this world passeth away.

 

We know the time is very short

To urge the lost to come and see

The evidence that we report,

Yet truth is sure that makes us free.

 

The ransom of our precious soul

Is where our greatest treasure is. 

Redemption's price is paid in full

That rescues us and makes us His.  

 

 

Purged with a Price

Read:  Psalm 65 / Proverbs 12 / Exodus 10 / 1 Corinthians 6 

 

Psalm 65:3,4 ~ Iniquities prevail against me: as for our transgressions, thou shalt purge them away... we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

Proverbs 12:20 ~ To the counselors of peace is joy.

Exodus 10:2 ~ Tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son's son, what things I have...  done among them; that ye may know how that I am the LORD.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 ~ What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost... and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

 

Though our iniquities prevailed,

The Lord has purged them all away.

His promised mercy never failed,

Though we, like sheep, had gone astray.

 

The purging of Your people, Lord,

Has come by Your self-sacrifice. 

No lesser love could thus afford

Salvation at so great a price!  

 

Winning Work

Read:  Psalm 64 / Proverbs 11 / Exodus 9 / 1 Corinthians 5

 

Psalm 64:9 ~ All men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.

Proverbs 11:30 ~ The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise. 

Exodus 9:27 ~ Pharaoh... said unto them, I have sinned this time: the LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.

1 Corinthians 5:7 ~ Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us. 

 

The work of God that saves by grace 

Shall bring conviction first of sins. 

The fear of God must be the place

Where true humility begins.

 

The winning work of Jesus Christ,

The promised Seed of Abraham,

Was seen when He was sacrificed

For sinners as our Paschal Lamb.  

 

Steadfast Stewards

Read:  Psalm 63 / Proverbs 10 / Exodus 8 / 1 Corinthians 4

Psalm 63:8 ~ My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me. 

Proverbs 10:5 ~ He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

Exodus 8:19,23 ~ This is the finger of God... I will put a division between My people and thy people.

1 Corinthians 4:1 ~ Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

 

The strength we need to run this race

Is found in Christ’s abundant power. 

The Lord imparts to us His grace,

And He upholds us every hour. 

 

As stewards of the Gospel's treasure,

We must be steadfast in our ways

As we pursue our Savior’s pleasure

And live our life to give Him praise. 

 

Give the Glory to God

Read:  Psalm 62 / Proverbs 9 / Exodus 6 / 1 Corinthians 3

 

Psalm 62:11,12 ~ God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God. Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.

Proverbs 9:10 ~ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Exodus 6:1 ~ Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh... with a strong hand.

1 Corinthians 3:14,21 ~ If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward... Therefore let no man glory in men.

 

To God belongs glory and power;

To God belongs mercy as well.

The Lord Jesus Christ is our Tower

By whom we are rescued from hell. 

 

Give not, therefore, glory to men;

The glory belongs to our Lord,

For soon we shall see Him and then

His glory shall be our reward. 

 

Heading Higher

Read:  Psalm 61 / Proverbs 8 / Exodus 5 / 1 Corinthians 2

 

Psalm 61:2,8 ~ Lead me to the rock that is higher than I... that I may daily perform my vows.

Proverbs 8:13,34,35 ~ The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate... Blessed is the man that heareth Me, watching daily at My gates... But he that sinneth against Me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

Exodus 5:2 ~ And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go?

1 Corinthians 2:2,7,8 ~ I determined not to know anything... save Jesus Christ, and him crucified... The hidden wisdom... which none of the princes of this world knew.

 

There is a Rock to where I'm led

While lifted by my Savior's hand. 

Still higher daily I will head

As I obey my Lord's command. 

 

The evil I should put away

I see portrayed in Pharaoh's pride.

I'm heading higher every day

Through Christ my Rock who for me died. 

 

Why We Worship

Read:  Psalm 60 / Proverbs 7 / Exodus 4 / 1 Corinthians 1

 

Psalm 60:4 ~ Thou hast given a banner to them that fear Thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.

Proverbs 7:1 ~ My son, keep My words, and lay up My commandments with thee.

Exodus 4:28-31 ~ Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD who had sent him... and the people believed: and when they heard... then they bowed their heads and worshiped.

1 Corinthians 1:23,30,31 ~ We preach Christ crucified ... made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption... He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

 

We have a banner to display

As we exalt our Lord and Savior. 

We have a message we convey:

The Gospel of His saving favor. 

 

The reason why we worship now

Is found in Christ's redemption story. 

Our hearts with adoration bow

As we delight to give Him glory. 

 

Infinite Ability of the I AM

Read:  Psalm 59 / Proverbs 6 / Exodus 3 / Romans 16  

 

Psalm 59:9 ~ Because of his strength will I wait upon Thee: for God is my Defense.

Proverbs 6:20,22 ~ My son, keep thy father's commandment... When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.

Exodus 3:14,20 ~ God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM... and I will stretch out My hand... and after that he will let you go.

Romans 16:20 ~ And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

 

My foes without and fears within

Remind me that I need God's grace

To be triumphant over sin

And find in Christ my Hiding Place. 

 

The infinite ability

Of Christ shall be my confidence. 

The great "I AM" shall fight for me,

And He shall be my strong Defense. 

 

Comfort of His Compassion

Read:  Psalm 58 / Proverbs 5 / Exodus 2 / Romans 15

 

Psalm 58:11 ~ Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily He is a God that judgeth in the earth.

Proverbs 5:21 ~ For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and He pondereth all his goings.

Exodus 2:25 ~ And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.

Romans 15:4 ~ For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

 

The Lord is judging with perfection

As He examines with His eyes

The matters calling for correction

As He has heard His people's cries. 

 

As in the days when Moses came,

The Lord shall comfort and restore,

For His compassion is the same

As it has ever been before.  

 

Key that Keeps

Read:  Psalm 57 / Proverbs 4 / Exodus 1 / Romans 14

 

Psalm 57:7 ~ My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

Proverbs 4:23 ~ Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Exodus 1:21 ~ And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.

Romans 14:12,18 ~ So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God... For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.

 

My heart is fixed to gladly sing

And give my praise to Jesus Christ

Because He is my God and King

And He for me was sacrificed. 

 

This is the key that keeps my heart: 

To Christ I am accountable! 

I'll live by grace He will impart;

He is the Shepherd of my soul. 

 

Mercy Meant

Read:  Psalm 56 / Proverbs 3 / Genesis 50 / Romans 13

 

Psalm 56:4 ~ In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

Proverbs 3:34 ~ Surely he... giveth grace unto the lowly.

Genesis 50:20 ~ But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

Romans 13:12,14 ~ The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light… put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.

 

How good is the mercy God meant, 

Exceeding our best expectation,

In view of redemption God sent

Through Jesus, the Lord of salvation. 

 

The mercy we could not have planned

Is manifest now in our sight. 

Though darkness confronts us, we stand,

For Christ is our armor of light. 

 

Burden for Blessings

Read:  Psalm 55 / Proverbs 2 / Genesis 49 / Romans 12

Psalm 55:22 ~ Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Proverbs 2:8 ~ He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

Genesis 49:25 ~ God... shall help thee... the Almighty... shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above.

Romans 12:2 ~ And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

 

God knows each burden that we bear

Which for our good He will arrange

That we might cast on Him our care

To find His blessings in exchange. 

 

The blessings that we thus shall find

Shall be revealed from above

As God renews our heart and mind

And thus preserves us by His love. 

 

Confidence and Clarity

Read:  Psalm 54 / Proverbs 1 / Genesis 48 / Romans 11 

 

Psalm 54:4,7 ~ Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul... He hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.

Proverbs 1:33 ~ Whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

Genesis 48:10,21 ~ Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age, so that he could not see... Israel said unto Joseph... God shall be with you, and bring you again unto the land of your fathers.

Romans 11:29 ~ For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

 

My eyes can see with clarity;

My heart believes with confidence.

I know that God shall be with me,

And He shall be my sure Defense. 

 

My eyes may yet be dim with age,

But I can see the path ahead,

For I can read the Scripture's page,

And I believe what God has said.
