Why Christ Was Cursed

Read:  Psalm 124 / Proverbs 3 / Numbers 23 / James 2

 

Psalm 124:2,4 ~ If it had not been the LORD who was on our side... then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul.

Proverbs 3:33 ~ The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.

Numbers 23:19-20 ~ God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.

James 2:23 ~ And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

  

If Christ had not been on our side,

How great would be our endless loss! 

We would have perished when we died

If Christ had not endured the cross. 

 

It was for us that Christ was cursed,

So by His grace we could be blest.

His blessing cannot be reversed,

And in this confidence, we rest.
