God is Greater

Read:  Psalm 93 / Proverbs 9 / Obadiah 1 / 1John 5

 

Psalm 93:3,4 ~ The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves. The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.

Proverbs 9:10,12 ~ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom… but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.

Obadiah 1:1,3 ~ Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning Edom… The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee… that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?

1 John 5:9,11 ~ If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son… And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

 

The floods have lifted up their noise,

But God is greater than their waves.

We’ve seen the pride that self-destroys,

But God has greater grace that saves.

 

The Word of God has testified

Against the proud who go on scorning

Who shall regret, when they have died,

That they dismissed our Savior’s warning.
