Pillars on our Path

"The LORD went before them... He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people" (Exodus 13:21,22).  "Lead me, O LORD... make Thy way straight before my face" (Psalm 5:8).  "Every word of God is pure: He is a Shield unto them that put their trust in Him" (Proverbs 30:5).  "Ye heard the Word of truth, the Gospel of your salvation... that ye may know what is the hope of His calling" (Ephesians 1:13,18). 

God led His people in plain sight:

A cloudy pillar every day,

A fiery pillar every night; 

His pillars led them all the way. 

The Lord still leads us by His grace

With faithfulness that is assured.

In everything that we shall face,

He guides and guards us by His Word.

His grace and truth shall be revealed

To those who truly seek the Lord.

We trust that He shall be our Shield;

His Word of truth shall be our sword.

O Lord, the words of Your salvation,

Which taught our souls to flee from wrath,

Have now become our proclamation,

As well as pillars on our path.
