Answer of Ambassadors

"Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?... The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things" (Proverbs 15:11,28).  "Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men... Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God" (2 Corinthians 5:11,20). 

The answer of ambassadors

Who speak for Christ must never waver,

Though every mocker still ignores

Their urgent need of heaven's favor.

There is a heaven and a hell,

No matter what the fool may say. 

Ambassadors must study well

And speak persuasively today. 

We know the terror of the Lord

That calls us to persuade the lost

To find God's refuge and reward

In Christ who paid redemption's cost.

Lord, grant us boldness in our speech

To offer reconciliation

As Your ambassadors who preach

The answer of Your great salvation.
