The Lord
befriended Israel's ranks
When they were
frail, helpless slaves
That they might
offer Him their thanks
And show how
graciously He saves.
The same may
likewise now be said
Of every sinner
who depends
On Christ, who
suffered our stead
And died to
rescue frail friends.
It is not wise
to think we're strong,
As if we do not
need the Savior.
The latter end shall
prove those wrong
Who will not
seek His saving favor.
O Lord, we are
like Abraham,
So frail when he
became so old,
Yet trusting in
the great I Am,
As friends of
God, You make us bold!
